Effect of hot water immersion on acute physiological responses following resistance exercise

نویسندگان

چکیده

Purpose: Hot water immersion (HWI) is a strategy theorised to enhance exercise recovery. However, the acute physiological responses HWI following resistance are yet be determined. Methods: The effect of on intramuscular temperature (IMT), muscle function, soreness and blood markers cell disruption inflammatory processes after was assessed. Sixteen trained males performed exercise, followed by either 10 min at 40°C or passive recovery (PAS). Results: Post-intervention, increase in IMT all depths greater for compared PAS, however this difference had disappeared 1 h post 2 cm, depth 3 cm. There were no differences between groups any markers. Conclusion: These results suggest that viable means heat therapy support exercise. Recovery function independent changes associated with HWI.

Effect of hot-water extract of brown seaweed Sargassum glaucescens via immersion route on immune responses of Fenneropenaeus indicus

The development of shrimp aquaculture, in spite of its global necessity, is largely at stake as significant ecological and pathological problems are increasing in the vast majority of the shrimp producing countries. Shrimp immunology is a key element in establishing strategies for controlling diseases in shrimp aquaculture. The total haemocyte count (THC), differential haemocyte count (DHC), t...

Effect of Water Immersion Temperature on Heart Rate Variability following Exercise in the Heat

This study compared the effect of passive rest (CON) and water immersion at 8.6±0.2°C (CWI9), 14.6±0.3°C (CWI15) and 35.0±0.4°C (thermoneutral water immersion [TWI]) on post-exercise heart rate variability (HRV) indices. In a climate chamber (32.8±0.4°C, 32±5% relative humidity), nine men completed 25 min of cycling at the first ventilatory threshold and repeated 30-second bouts at 90% of peak ...

Comparison of Acute Hormonal Responses between Resistance, Endurance and Endurance-Resistance Exercise in Healthy Young Men

Introduction: This research was aimed at examining acute responses of hormones such as growth hormone (GH), total testosterone (TT), free testosterone (FT), free fatty acid (FFA) and cortisol to resistance (R), endurance (E) and endurance-resistance (ER) exercise. Methods: The participants of this study were 10 healthy young men. R protocol included bench press, lateral pull down, leg exten...

Physiological responses to cold water immersion following cycling in the heat.

UNLABELLED Cold water immersion (CWI) has become a popular means of enhancing recovery from various forms of exercise. However, there is minimal scientific information on the physiological effects of CWI following cycling in the heat. PURPOSE To examine the safety and acute thermoregulatory, cardiovascular, metabolic, endocrine, and inflammatory responses to CWI following cycling in the heat....
